Ingrid Moon is an independent author, freelance book editor, and backyard scientist. As a lover of pop culture and action films, Moon now publishes science fiction novels ranging from the far reaches of the galaxy to the dystopian climate disasters of home.
Her debut novel, The Handler's Gambit, received two BookFest awards for best Space Opera and Sci-Fi Exploration, 17 "Outstanding Creator Awards" including best audiobook, and an honorable mention from the Independent Press Awards.
Its exciting sequel, The Warrior's Shade, is available, and the third book in the series, The Tempest's Fury, will release in May of 2025.
Her dystopian, near-future novel, The Biohunter, is a military-style action hunt in post-apocalyptic America inspired by The Dark Tower, Replacement Killers, and Furiosa.
In addition to authoring novels, Moon has published a series of science reference books for authors, worldbuilders, game masters, level designers, and other creatives, to help them infuse credible science into their stories. Her love of science extended to teaching K12 science, including leading student experiments to the International Space Station.
She is also a wildlife caretaker and lives with six cats, two pet pigs, and an army of wild squirrels.
